Secret Wedding Wish Comes True!
Sue and Quenton Kelley surprised their family in August this year by making all their wedding plans in secret.
Early in the year they contacted our celebrant Muriel Garland and explained how they wanted to get married on the island while Quenton’s mother was visiting from Zimbabwe. With Muriel’s help the couple, who live in Enfield, wrote the words for their own wedding ceremony and chose poetry to read. This meant they could say exactly what they wanted to say to each other and include their family in the ceremony.
It was a very relaxed but meaningful ceremony for them all. The spot they chose for the ceremony was on Maughold Head. So at 9am on 24th August with the sun glinting on the water and the fields around glowing green Sue and Quenton’s wish came true.
Their secret wedding went just as planned. Sue carried a bouquet of Manx fuchsia and harebells. And the ceremony was followed by a welcome barbecue of local food.
We wish them continued happiness in their lives together.
